Most people have a boat or waverunner to enjoy it, not to get headaches.  You have to keep certain things in mind.   

• There are over 17 million boats on our waterways during the boating season;
  
  
• Not all of those 17 million are licensed;
  
  
• What if you accidentally hit one of the 10's of millions of water skiers and swimmers;
  
  
• Your watercraft could get damaged at dock, out at sea or while in transport;
  
  
• In 2006, there were 3,474 injuries, 750 fatalities and a resulting $43,670,424 in property damage;
  
  
• Approximately 70% of all fatalities (in 2006) occurred on boats where the operator had not received boating safety instruction;
  
  
• Alcohol was involved in 20% of all boating fatalities in 2006.

Since you can't control everyone on the water, make sure you have adequate coverage for you and the ones you love.
